All aboard please, photographs by Grant Maiden, Wellington, New Zealand.

Late one afternoon a couple of weeks ago in the hill country of the Matale District, we stopped at one of the tiny villages set amongst the abundant tea fields. The people had finished work on the tea plantations as well as school for the day and were talking on the roadside, preparing meals in their homes, and the kids were playing.

Amazing portraits Grant! Will you send them to the people? Or is that just too difficult? I wondered what they’d make of them… They’re really beautiful. The fabrics! They get patterning in such a different and free way to how do.

Looking forward to catching up Sat night
